La Hermosa (Guatemala) coffee beans were donated by our partner, Mayorga Organics, and were roasted, packaged, and shipped by our team of student employees in South Nashville. Mayorga Organics exists to eliminate systemic poverty in Latin America through responsible trade of artisanal organic foods, and Humphreys Street exists to employ and empower teens in order to develop leaders and provide pathways out of poverty in South Nashville. Together, our partnership allows us to promote community development from seed to cup, globally and locally.

The La Hermosa is a bold coffee that is rich in flavor. With tasting notes of tangerine and white wine, this coffee is great with almost every brew method for different reasons. It will pair well with cream and sugar when you brew with a traditional brewer and is complex enough to satisfy the work of a pour over.

Cooperativa Integral Agrícola La Hermosa
The La Hermosa Cooperative is founded and run by Max Perez, the son of a coffee farmer who left his law career in Guatemala City to run a farm outside of Antigua. He founded the cooperative, now 52 members strong, to help members to become organic certified, leverage their volumes for export, and ensure a fair market price for their crops. The cooperative’s mission is to have a long term relationship with clients in order to continue improving coffee quality and supply chain transparency.
